A Merger to Benefit Our Members

 

We’re excited to share some important updates with you as we move forward together. 

New Debit Cards Are on the Way

Your new debit card will arrive by mail and include instructions for activation and setting your PIN.
Important: The card will not be active until December 1. Please do not attempt to use it before that date.

Your Online Banking Transition – What to Expect

  • Enroll Early: Once you receive your AmeriCU member number, you can pre-register for online and mobile banking.
  • Access Begins December 1: Account details and services will be available starting December 1.
  • Conversion Downtime: MVFCU online and mobile banking will be deactivated during conversion weekend, and brief downtime may occur.
  • Transaction History: MVFCU account history will not transfer to AmeriCU’s system.

Watch your mail and email for important account details and step-by-step instructions to enroll in online and mobile banking.

ATM & Coin Machine Downtime

  • Coin Machines are currently not available and will be installed the week of December 8.
  • ATMs will experience scheduled downtime between November 28-December 4
  • An Interactive Teller Machine works like an ATM but offers more and will be installed the week of December 1.

Services

Branches will close early on November 28, and new service hours will begin December 1.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, the members of Mountain Valley Federal Credit Union have overwhelmingly approved our merger with AmeriCU Credit Union through ballots received before and during our special membership meeting. This merger, proposed by Mountain Valley’s Board of Directors and management, reflects our deep belief that joining with AmeriCU is in the best interest of our members, staff, and communities, and we’re thrilled to see our members agree.

As part of AmeriCU, you’ll gain access to a broader range of financial services, including expanded mortgage and loan options, small business services, investment and insurance support, a member rewards program, and enhanced digital banking tools. All four Mountain Valley branches will remain open, and you’ll continue to be served by the same friendly staff, now with the added benefit of AmeriCU’s 21 financial centers, Virtual Financial Center, Interactive ATMs, and improved cybersecurity.

We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. No action is required from you at this time, but please watch your mail for important updates, including new account details and debit cards.
